We’ve gone big on HYROX at BASE!

With the first race in Thailand taking place at BITEC in May, we’ve been working hard to offer a range of HYROX training options for all levels. Whether you would like to work one on one with a coach, train with a group for community vibes or try a full HYROX race simulation to prepare for test day – we’ve got it all!

How best to prepare for May’s HYROX Race in Bangkok, Thailand?

Here’s a summary of our HYROX classes, available at both BASE Sathorn and BASE Amarin

BASE HYROX

BASE HYROX – our standard HYROX training class – offers a mix of both strength and conditioning, using all the kit and practicing all the movements you’ll be doing on race day.

Expect a mix of longer, more endurance-based sets and shorter interval circuit training sessions. We also have some class formats that are designed to mimic a race environment with very little rest time throughout the whole session.

Expect all the HYROX cardio equipment – running, SkiErg and RowErg – as well as sled pushes, sled pulls and total body strength training.

HYROX CONDITIONING

HYROX Conditioning is a 45-minute session limited to just 15 people that focuses on the cardio and endurance side of the race.

HYROX Conditioning offers three formats with varying set lengths, from 90 seconds to six minutes, with every class taking you through five stations:

Running – on Assault Air Runners
Bike – on Assault Air Bike
SkiErg – on official Concept 2 equipment
RowErg – on Concept 2’s trademark machine
Functional – practicing HYROX movements such as burpees, lunges and wall balls

Even if you’re not doing HYROX, this class will help improve your conditioning and get you super fit for any race, or just life!

HYROX STRENGTH

HYROX Strength is a 45-minute session limited to 16 people that focuses on developing total body strength, as well as specifically practicing some of the movement patterns that are needed in HYROX.

HYROX Strength offers two class formats with longer sets, designed for heavier lifting and more rest time, as well as a strength circuit class with less rest time.

We will get you doing all the movements you’ll be doing on HYROX race day, such as:

Sled pushes and sled pulls – we’ll get you used to race day weight!
Sandbag lunges – with tips on depth and efficiency
Squats and push ups – needed for the wall balls and burpee broad jumps
Lower body exercises – to speed up and power your running

However, all over body strength is key to success, so we’ll be doing other full body strength movements to get you race ready.

HYROX RACE SIMULATION

Our HYROX Race Simulation is a private one or two person session lasting up to 90 minutes where we recreate the exact HYROX race day conditions. You will do all eight HYROX functional stations plus a run in between each one. You can choose a full 1,000 meter run if you want to get used to race day conditions, but you can choose 600 or 800 meters if you’re still building up your endurance.

This is the perfect way to get a real sense for what a HYROX race feels like and how it impacts the body!

HYROX race simulations are by appointment only on weekend or weekday afternoons.

HYROX PERSONAL TRAINING

HYROX Personal Training at BASE is perfect for you if you need some work to get ready for the race, or you are aiming for a specific time.

At days and times that suit your schedule, our HYROX Coaches will develop a program that specifically targets areas you need to improve on, as well as monitoring your progress to make sure you have a great race!
