What is the Hyrox PFT?
Since we became a Hyrox Affiliated Gym in Bangkok, we’ve welcomed new people eager to learn more about this new training trend. In short, Hyrox is “the fitness race for everyone”, and it’s becoming increasingly popular amongst both athletes and everyday people looking for a challenge.
Part of preparation for a race is the ‘Hyrox PFT’, which stands for ‘Physical Fitness Test’. It’s designed to give you a strong introduction into what the Hyrox race and training method is all about. It’s also good for you if you’re thinking about doing a Hyrox race, so you can measure where your fitness level is at, and know which level you should join.
What is the Hyrox PFT?
The Hyrox PFT is a series of exercises which you complete in as quick a time as possible.
At the end of the PFT, you will have a good idea of the best Hyrox event for you to enter – Pro, Solo or Team.
What are the exercises?
✅ 1000m Run (outdoor or treadmill at 2% incline)
✅ 50 Burpee Broad Jumps (90 cm)
✅ 1000m Row
✅ 100 Stationary Lunges (Fully Extended)
✅ 30 Push Up (Hand Release)
✅ 100 Wallballs (6kg male / 4 kg female)
How long does it take to do the exercises?
Of course, the time taken varies depending on your fitness level, but you can expect to finish the PFT in around 20-45 minutes.
If you complete in under 24 minutes, you should consider joining the Pro Division race caterory.
If you complete in 24-28 minutes, you should consider joining either the Open or Pro Division.
If you complete in over 28 minutes, you should consider joining either Open Division or the Doubles or Team categories.
Who is the Hyrox PFT for?
It’s for everyone! If you’re interested to do a Hyrox race or just want a fun fitness challenge, you can join the session.
