How Uwe eased his chronic pain, lost 6kg of fat and got stronger than ever

After meeting BASE Coach Jamal at a dinner party, Uwe’s first conversation with his soon-to-be coach was about the chronic pain in his neck and shoulder that don’t seem to get better with any treatment.

“I met Jamal casually at a dinner event with a good friend we have in common. Somehow we started to talk about my permanent shoulder and neck pain, and he explained that this might be related to weakness in that area and an improvement in total body strength could help.”

Uwe mentioned that he was curious about Jamal’s method and thought ‘why not give it a try?’

He went for BASE’s Personal Training Starter Pack to see if it was for him and after his first 3 personal training sessions, he started experiencing some relief from his pain.

“After the first few sessions I immediately realized there will be many more benefits to continuing this training routine. We’ve trained now consistently for around three months and I’ve seen remarkable results.

I lost around another 6kgs of body fat and gained 2kg of muscle. This is the lowest body fat I have had in 20 years!

As well as the reduction in neck and shoulder pain and his huge body composition improvements, Uwe has also achieved massive gains in strength.

He has hit personal records in the squat and deadlift which, in his words “would have sounded unrealistic and possibly even crazy a few months ago”.

Jamal’s program helped Uwe hit a best of 100kg in the squat and he has now surpassed 100kg on the deadlift.

He has not stopped there though. He’s feeling better than ever and is still seeing improvements in his pain, functionality and strength.
