Small Group Personal Training – BASE Launches Specialized Service
We’re excited to announce the launch of a new service – Small Group Personal Training, or SGPT for short!
SGPT is personal training in small groups of up to six people, offering the perfect balance between personalized coaching and community vibes.
Small Group Personal Training (also known as ‘SGPT’) at BASE is a standardized strength-based program that helps you build muscle and strength.
You’ll be training with small groups of between 2-6 people, offering a high level of individualized coaching.
Unlike classes, the coach will be able to give you proper help on form and technique and guidance on nutrition, just like personal training.
SGPT is perfect for you if…
✅ You’ve been doing classes for a while and want to raise your game
✅ You like the idea of personal training, but want a community vibe too
✅ You want a personal trainer, but would like a more cost-effective solution
1️⃣ 45-minute consultation with a BASE coach to discuss your goals and the program.
2️⃣ Book your slots (2, 3 or 4 times per week).
3️⃣ Turn up and start training!
You’ll be given a program depending on whether you will train 2, 3 or 4 times per week. You can do your program in whichever slot you join, so the times and days you train are flexible.

What is Small Group Personal Training?
Small Group Personal Training (shortened to SGPT) is a strength and conditioning program that offers a similar level of attention to form and personalized goals as personal training, but at a fraction of the cost.
In SGPT you can expect to train in small groups of up to six people with a structured strength program, with some time built in to work on specific goals at the end.
For example, if you want to improve cardio, grow and strengthen glutes or work on core strength, our coaches will build in programming to help you hit these goals, beyond the fundamental base of strength training that the program provides.
How Is It Structured?
We recommend three times per week for best results, but offer two, three or four times per week training options. We have scheduled sessions in the week that you can book at your convenience. For example, you may normally book your sessions at 6.00pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but if you have some evening meetings one week you can change to 7.00am on Wednesday and 9.00am on Saturday.
Before you start our full SGPT program you will have a 45-minute consultation with a BASE Coach. This is to explain in more detail how the SGPT works, as well as tailor the program to your specific goals.
How do I book my Small Group Personal Training sessions?
Sessions can be booked by contacting our team, however we strongly recommend you book your sessions in advance to guarantee your slots, as each session can host a maximum of just six people.
We allow rescheduling or cancelling of sessions more than 12 hours in advance. Any cancellations less than 12 hours in advance are charged.
Who’s It Great For?
Small Group Personal Training will be perfect for you if you’ve been doing classes, but you want to get more serious about strength or focus on a specific goal.
It is also a great solution if you like personal training, but you prefer the community aspect of training with other people.
Who’s It Not Great For?
Much of the SGPT program is standardized, offering a solid, structured cycle of strength training that will get you strong and in great shape.
If you have very specific training needs, for example, you want to focus on a specific body part, or you have an injury that affects how you can train and prevents you doing some movements, we recommend one-on-one personal training.
SGPT is not an advanced program and we welcome all levels, but if you have no experience with strength training and aren’t comfortable with movements such as squats and deadlifts, we recommend taking our 4 Session Personal Training Starter Pack first, to best prepare you.
